I'm a bit nervous about writing this post. However my website guru ( we shall call him Colin) says I have to.
Colin and I have got to know each each other via a series of zoom meetings during lockdown.
But I'm going too fast. Lets begin at the start.
About 18 months ago I embarked on a hobby that has changed my life. Being a mum to 4, wife and self employed beauty trainer didn't make much time for other things. I was living a fast pace. I hadn't realised how much it was wearing me out.
2019 was the year all about a hobby . Except I didn't really think a hobby was for me. I have always been a driven person , and having a large family and working for myself has not lent itself to having masses of time on my hands. This is something I have never regretted. I love my family.
However the last time time I had a hobby I was probably about 12 and it was learning Duran Duran lyrics.
I am also a fabulous procrastinator I have a head full of things to do but only enjoy the fun things..if only procrastination was a sport!
So, one day I was talking to a friend and I was telling her I needed to do something, but I could not put my finger on what.
I had spent months feeling unsettled and that I needed to shake things up a bit.
Was this a mid life crisis? I was unsure and a bit concerned. I mean I wasnt ready to take up fire walking or something else just as scary.
At the time my son was unwell and home a lot, we spent a lot of time at hospital appointments and generally concentrating on the extremely important task of getting him well.
So I set about researching a hobby that I thought we could both do, something to occupy him and something we could both find fun. After trying various things , we found making bathbombs. I bought all the bits and we spent a few afternoons laughing at our creations and having a bit of fun.
As he got better and grew naturally bored of making them, because he was 11 and it's not cool of course, I found that they helped me.
I hadn't realised that I needed something to just do, for no reason other than to relax.
I would sit for hours , making and designing and playing around with different techniques. I found I had a love for actually making something from raw ingredients.
I have always had a fascination for beauty products. It has been my dream to have my own ranges, but it just never happened.
Soon I was in the swing of making bathbombs, but they were taking over the house! So I began gifting to friends and family. It was lovely to gift something I had actually made.
Then, in October 2019 my wonderful husband suggested I do something with it as a business.
He bought my first assessment and here we are! I make bathbombs and balms and other amazing products. I have this lovely website and I'm selling my products in independent outlets.
I never would have thought that I'd be Madame Fizz. Something that started as pure relaxation has turned into my dream business. I'm so lucky to do this.
Where does Colin the website guru fit in?. He is a business mentor and is helping me to turn my dream into reality.
So this is my first blog , as Madame Fizz .
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you will come back again soon. Xx
